I chose Sophie’s song Faceshopping for my remix as I was familiar with the song before, and I thought it would be interesting to make a remix that is so influential to the contemporary pop landscape.

Before getting into the producing stage of the remix for the song “Faceshopping”. I first isolated the vocals and other instruments through logic’s stem splitter and listened to all the parts I could use for samples. I chopped out all the interesting melodies and sounds of the song and I started to mess around with them. Listening to the vocals I have chopped, I was really intrigued by this one specific melody. It’s just her humming out “nana-na-nanananana”. As this melody was so interesting to me I started to loop it throughout the whole song.

The last section of my remix was taken from this epic bridge of the song. I wanted to create this atmosphere just like it was playing in a catholic church. I have put the original sample which was isolated only into this essentially pad sound into a granular sampler.
